ESL Intermediate Conversation
Improve your ability to use the English language in everyday situations and conversations. Listening and speaking in English are practiced in this class which is 24 hours in length (2 credits). The Birth of American Culture
What do you know about the American Dream? It started with our history of gaining independence from Great Britain. This class will take you through our history and the principles of liberty, equality and brotherhood that stem from the Enlightenment that influences our early colonists. The basics of the US Constitution and our rights as citizens will also be covered. The class is 9 hours in length. (1 credit)

Contemporary American Issues
United States policy is influenced by many present day issues: illegal immigration, vouchers and charter schools, unaffordable higher education, gay rights, bullying, the economic meltdown and affirmative action to name a few. This class will cover many of the issues faced in contemporary America. By attending this class you will be informed about what’s happening around you, in the news and around the world. This class is 9 hours in length (1 credit). Dates: Thursdays, April 26 thru May 31 Time: 9:30 am-11:00 am Cost $95 Course Code: AEAC-101-140
